Design doesn’t get much more iconic than these simple concentric circles. In early 1960s Britain Mods famously combined a slick approach to fashion, an ear for modern jazz, a taste for Italian scooters, and a penchant for brawling with Rockers. As part of their critical approach to fashion they appropriated one of the Royal Air Force’s most recognisable symbols, the roundel, and as part of SOXKS’s critical approach to fashion we have decided in turn appropriated one of the Mods’ most recognisable symbols. They started it, your honour! Rarely does hosiery pack this much socio-historical punch.
